As its history goes, the farm was used as a military post guarding the fertile Arno Valley. Structured as part of an ancient borgo, the farm building was transformed during 16th century into a comfortable and elegant residential villa with a chapel. Villa Fioralba follows the traditional pattern of structure of a borgo or hamlet, with other houses around but gives you privacy and comfort with its tranquil gardens and serene atmosphere.

Attached with consideration and foresight, this floor is also fitted with a full bath that has an open shower.
Stone stairs lead up to the first floor that opens out to two double bedrooms. The first double bedroom is air-conditioned and is adorned with an iron four poster king size bed and beamed ceilings. The view over Florence with the Duomo from this room at the top is spectacular and adds class with culture. The second bedroom also air-conditioned, has a double comfortable bed being decorated with antique cotto floors and a ceiling with 19th century flower décor. The bathroom is convenient and large besides being tiled, with a classy ambience that displays an old wooden glassed-in linen case and old paintings on the walls. Fitted with the latest amenities, Villa Fioralba has two bathrooms which are pristine and well maintained. The First Floor has a spacious bathroom fitted with a tub, bidet, WC and a large lavabo. The bathroom is also furnished in the Antique classic/liberty style with lovely Italian tiles and crafted cabinetry. The Ground floor has a large bathroom with a vestibule, 2 lavabos with modern facilities enclosed shower and a big mirror. Structured to perfection with convenience in mind, the vestibule gives access to the WC room which is a separate room with WC, bidet and washer. Decorated with elegance in the antique classic style, this bathroom has a floor with unique Italian tiles and colonial style furniture.
Guests staying at the beautiful holiday Villa Fioralba have use of the Tuscan kitchen which has a spacious fire gas stove with 4 burners, an electric oven, microwave, an American coffee machine and a small table on which to prepare food. For the convenience of the guests staying at Villa Fioralba, there is an abundance of cooking utensils, pots and pans to facilitate easy cooking and serving. The formal dining room is furnished with warmth and clean lines and can be accessed from the kitchen or via a series of stairs situated between the kitchen and living room. The dining room with a view to an old-fashioned romantic meal has a window and a glass door which look out into the garden and also has an open fireplace, cotto flooring and ancient beamed ceilings. Besides being homely, refreshing and wholesome, the kitchen also has a fixed telephone with a plug that is available also for a PC connection. Housed under the living room there is a medieval cellar with stone walls and a curved brick vault which adds to the intrigue of this marvelous villa. Interestingly enough, during the restoration, antique ceramics were uncovered right here. Behind the Villa Fioralba, there is a lovely pensile garden, with iron furnishings, Jacuzzi pool and amazing views of the city of Florence, its ancient areas, villages, the Arno Valley and even an 18th century Monastery, that makes you want to just soak up the Tuscan sun all day and absorb the historic ambience!!

The first floor of the villa is air conditioned, the ground floor no asit stays quite cool & the walls are of thick stone. Cooking Classes, Wine Tasting, Ceramic Factories Visit, Guided Tours can be arranged on prior request. Pets are allowed on prior request. Cell Phones available for hire on prior request. Tourist sights and/or activities in the area : The basic grocery store situated a few steps away the villa offer all kind of fresh food like bread, fruits and vegetables, olive oil, wine, cheese, prosciutto, salami etc. It is open from 7,30 to 1pm and from 5 to 8 pm except on Wednesday afternoon and Sunday. In the city center of Lastra a Signa, just 1/2 mile away ( 5 minutes drive or 15 min. walking ) you find banks, Post Office, Chemist, Petrol Stations, other kind of shops, bakery, pastry, coffe shop and the big Supermarket Ipercoop. The Lazzi buses start from Lastra a Signa city center until the Central Station in Florence each 15-20 minutes. The train station is 2 miles away ( trains for Florence-Pisa-Siena )
